TupaLock is an automatic lock that can fit around any sized container, and function in any temperature, with the ability to lock and unlock through a companion app using a bluetooth pairing. My role largely involved the ideation process of the initial design and functionality of the product, some of the Arduino functions, and the complete wireframing for the companion app prototype.

Family Mode: In order to tend to additional features, we created the ability to have a “family,” in which you could add/invite people, and with every creation of a lock, a user could give certain family members the ability to access this lock.

Home Screen: Upon opening the app, the user would be shown each of their locks, with details such as the name, battery life, activity, and the users with access to it. Clicking on a lock gives the user more details and editing ability regarding who the lock was locked by, its timer, a message to display to the lock, and the toggle that physically will lock and unlock it.

We implemented the Forge club’s color scheme, and gave the app more of a modern and friendly feel to match with the pitching of our idea, as shown with the organic shapes in the background, rounded corners, and the representation of users with simple circles. In an actual implementation of this app, we would fill in the circles with silly doodles of faces. Furthermore, we made sure to make this app entertaining and easy to use with clear colored signifiers, and a mix of toggles, buttons, text boxes, and swiping/sliding features.
